How to stop litter tracking
A few small changes at the litter box keep stray granules off your floors.
Start at the box
- Keep the litter level a few centimetres below the rim so there is less to kick out.
- A box with higher sides, or a covered box, gives less litter a clear path onto the floor.
Catch it at the exit
- A double-layer mat placed right at the doorway catches granules on the way out. The honeycomb top traps them and the solid layer underneath holds them until you empty it.
- Shake the mat back into the box every few days and rinse it when you change the litter.
Small habits that help
- Sweep or vacuum around the box every few days rather than letting it build up.
- Keep a small brush and dustpan nearby so a quick clean takes seconds.
